Nazareth University has named Barbara Wilcox Leicht ‘10G its director of alumni and constituent engagement. She brings a strong background in leadership coaching and career development. Most recently, she worked at SUNY Empire, leading an approximately half-million-dollar grant-funded initiative to connect students to experiential learning opportunities as internship coordinator.
Leicht also serves on Nazareth’s Alumni Advisory Board as a committee chair, participating in the Outstanding Alumni Awards and Presidential Student Leadership Awards. She spearheaded the planning of Headshots, Hops & Hots (as part of Nazareth’s Senior Celebration Days) and shared strategies and skills for job seekers on a recent alumni webinar, offered by her career coaching business, BE Career Development. She has a wide range of career advisement experience from positions at Rochester Works and the University of Rochester in career coaching.
Leicht earned her bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Pittsburgh and her master’s in inclusive adolescence education from Nazareth University.
“I owe so much to Naz,” she said in a 2024 video about participating in Nazareth’s centennial oral history project. One empowering experience in her master’s degree program was working one-on-one with a student in the Industry School, south of Rochester, New York, on his individualized education plan. It helped develop her as a teacher and coach who ultimately shifted her own career path — and has guided others in career pivots.
