The hit musical The Prom on stage at the Nazareth Arts Center, April 2-4

Published March 25, 2026

The Nazareth University Theatre and Dance Department invites audiences to grab their sparkles and sequins, cue the spotlight, and get ready for a night of big laughs and even bigger hearts with The Prom, a vibrant Broadway musical about standing up, speaking out, and showing up exactly as you are. Featuring a book by Bob Martin and Chad Beguelin, music by Matthew Sklar, and lyrics by Chad Beguelin, the show is based on an original concept by Jack Viertel.

At the center of The Prom is a simple request that turns into a headline-making clash: a high school student just wants to bring her girlfriend to prom. Enter four fabulously self-absorbed Broadway stars in search of their next big moment, and what follows is a whirlwind of chaos, comedy, and unexpected connection. As egos collide and perspectives shift, the story builds to a joyful reminder that acceptance isn’t just a message, it’s a movement.

The musical runs April 2–4 at the Nazareth Arts Center Callahan Theater, with evening performances at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and a matinee performance Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at  boxoffice.naz.edu or by calling/visiting the Nazareth Arts Center box office any Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday from 2-5 p.m.

Nazareth’s production of The Prom is directed by Nicolette Hart, choreographed by Tuan Malinowski, and music directed by Sean Michael Flowers, bringing together a dynamic team to deliver a show full of energy, humor, and heart.

The student cast is led by Marissa Hennen as Emma Nolan, Alyssa Rodriguez as Alyssa Greene, Isabel Simone as Dee Dee Allen, Kevin Torello as Barry Glickman, Max Bass as Trent Oliver, Avery McKelvey as Angie Dickinson, and Elijah Poole as Mr. Hawkins.

The cast also includes Emily Aiello, Aubrey Barnhouse, Blake Boles, Rey Bradley, Lianna Crisci, Julianna D'Addario, Halo Diamond-Cole, Mallory Gamit, Joey Gonzalez, Jordan Goodman, Matthew Grand, Kevin Grumbley, McLain Hunter, Emily Hurwitz, Mark Ryan Leavitt, Natalie Lukanik, David Mammano, Brendan Martinez, Sam McCarty, Dakota Moreno, Maren Nixon, Geneva Pace, CJ Pesina, Genevieve Prinsen, Julia Purpora, Abby Salazar, Bella Sanchez, Sawyer Shonts, Jack Sisk, Kili Thompson, Keetyn Weeks, Carissa Williams, Brynn Wiser, Ally Wolfe, and Alex Yagud-Wolek.
