The founding of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) in 1897 created a new kind of honor society, one that recognized excellence in all academic disciplines. With the motto, "Let the love of learning rule humanity," PKP recognizes and promotes academic excellence in all fields of higher education and engages the community of scholars in service to others.
Nazareth received its charter in January 2013 as Chapter 320 and is the only honor society at Nazareth open to all academic majors. Inductees are acknowledged in the graduation program.
At Nazareth, eligible students are invited to join per the national PKP eligibility guidelines. Letters of invitation are sent via email and mail in mid-February.
New members: annual dues are $78 per year, of which $77 is national and $1 is local chapter fees.
Nazareth's Phi Kappa Phi Student Assistance Fund provides assistance to eligible students to offset a portion of the initial membership fee. Assistance is based on financial need demonstrated through Pell eligibility, enrollment in HEOP or Young Scholars, or other means determined by the Phi Kappa Phi officers. Apply for assistance by the deadline specified on the form.
The 2024 induction ceremony will be held Friday, April 11, 2025 at 4:30pm in the Forum.
