The founding of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) in 1897 created a new kind of honor society, one that recognized excellence in all academic disciplines. With the motto, "Let the love of learning rule humanity," PKP recognizes and promotes academic excellence in all fields of higher education and engages the community of scholars in service to others.

Nazareth College received its charter in January 2013 as Chapter 320 and is the only honor society at Nazareth open to all academic majors. Inductees are acknowledged in the graduation program.
