Join us to engage in faculty inquiry around Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in college classrooms. A selected reading will be provided for participants in advance of each session, and we will use discussion-based protocols to guide our analysis of these texts. Feel free to attend any or all sessions based on your professional learning goals. Those who are able to attend all of the fall and spring sessions will receive a certificate of completion for the full series.
FIS 1 | Why Does UDL Matter in the College Classroom?
FIS 2 | Foundational Principles of UDL in the College Classroom
Two more sessions in this series will be offered in Spring 2026. Look for those to be advertised in January!
Let’s be honest: AI has turned us all into researchers, running experiments in our classrooms. Join us as we get together to discuss and learn from each other’s experiments so we don’t have to run them all by ourselves? This is a two-part workshop:
Part One | Wednesday, October 15 • 2:00 - 3:00 PM
We'll be sharing the experiments we’re running! Maybe you’re trying out AI-resistant or AI-integrated assignments? Or new assessment methods that center the work of learning? Or AI tutors/collaborators in the classroom? And so on…
Part Two | Date & Time TBD by Participants
We’ll meet to share our results and our thoughts about the whole experience. Hopefully, we’ll learn something from each other’s experiences that will help us feel more confident, empowered, and AI-aware for next semester!
If you’re interested in participating, you can Register Here. In order to ensure we have time to hear everyone’s ideas, space in the workshop will be limited.
Are you interested in strategies to spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and promote collaboration in your classroom? Join us for a workshop on active and engaged learning in health professional education. Together, we’ll share ideas, learn from one another, and leave with practical tools to enrich our teaching and better prepare students for the critical thinking skills required for professional practice.
Thursday, November 6 • 12:00 - 1:00 PM in the TIIL
Discover new ways to engage your students and learn from your colleagues. Come ready to share, collaborate, and leave with fresh ideas to bring into your teaching.
Cooperative Learning for Inclusive Classrooms
Want to make group work actually work? This hands-on session explores how cooperative learning can transform your classroom into a true learning community. Join us to experience strategies like Think-Pair-Share and Send-a-Problem that you can immediately use to foster engagement and inclusion.
Building Engagement Through Classroom Experiments
What if your students experienced the lesson instead of just hearing it? In this workshop, we’ll run some playful classroom experiments to show how experiments build engagement, connection, and lasting understanding. Leave with a ready-to-use activity and ideas for your own courses.
