Intramurals & Recreation offers students, faculty, and staff opportunities in person to participate in sports leagues, tournaments, outdoor adventure, fitness, and leisure activities that foster peer bonding and support healthy lifestyles. All leagues, tournaments, open events, and fitness classes are free for Nazareth students.

Group Exercise Classes

FIT1

Class Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:00 pm-1:00 pm

When: August 27th, 2024 - May 8th, 2025

Instructor: Gustavo Zajia Jr.

Location: Golisano Training Center Field House

Description: FIT1 is Rochester's premiere workout that will improve aerobic fitness, core and overall strength, flexibility, balance and help prevent injury.

The class incorporates tried and true exercises with FIT1 inspired movements that engage every major muscle group in a fun, safe and challenging way.

Night Light Yoga

Class Time: Thursdays 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

When: September 19th, 2024 - May 8th, 2025

Instructor: Sarah Yanello

Location: Shults 018 (Basement of Shults Group Fitness Rm next to mail room) 

Description: Night Light Yoga is an open-level slow-flow yoga class welcoming for beginners and experienced yogis alike. There will be many opportunities to power up or mellow out, according to your needs and preferences. Each class will help you feel centered, grounded and more peaceful in your body, mind and heart.

Acro Yoga

Class Time: Fridays 2:30 pm-3:30 pm

When: September 6th, 2024 - May 8th, 2025

Instructor: Lynne Boucher

Location: Shults 018 (Basement of Shults Group Fitness Room next to the mail room)

Description: In this weekly class, you’ll learn the fundamental skills of Acro Yoga: basing, flying, and spotting. We’ll develop a sense of interdependence, community, and fun! No experience necessary – we’ll continue to teach and develop skills each week. Come by yourself or bring a friend. No partner is necessary.

Core Conditioning Yoga

Class Time: Fridays 1:30 – 2:30pm .

When: September 6th, 2024 - May 8th, 2025

Instructor: Lynne Boucher

Location: Shults 018 (Basement of Shults Group Fitness near the mailroom).  

Description: Core Conditioning Yoga is a light-hearted Friday afternoon class that will help you build strength and endurance. Through a series of fun and playful movements, you will strengthen all the core muscles of your body and practice being present and focused.

Open to all students.

Shotokan Karate

Class Time: Thursdays 7:00pm – 8:30pm

When: September 5th, 2024 - December 12th, 2024

Instructor: Amanda Wong-Jensen

Location: Shults 018 (Basement of Shults Group Fitness near the mailroom).  

Description: This practice is affiliated with Shotokan Karate of America, a national not-for-profit organization teaching Karate-Do since 1956. All are welcome to experience this respectful and inclusive self defense training! No experience needed. You are welcome to wear loose bottoms and a T-shirt. This 90-minute session will be compromised of kihon kata, and kumite.

Open to all students, faculty and staff.
