Each year your gifts fuel Nazareth in countless other ways; by supplying funds that benefit athletics, support specific academic program areas, expand research and internship opportunities, underwrite student travel abroad, enhance faculty development, and much more. In 2020–2021 that also meant supporting some very unique needs, never before encountered at Nazareth.
Shifting gears from in-person to remote teaching, learning, and working, and back again, presented a host of challenges for our Information Technology and Facilities teams. And with your support, they rose to the task, accomplishing the following, and more:
Hundreds of new and refurbished laptops and peripherals for remote use
VPN connections and development of outdoor campus WIFI hotspot
High-tech classrooms and computer labs to accommodate social distancing
Reconfiguration of classrooms, residence halls, and dining facilities
Tracking systems for quarantine reporting and surveillance testing
Over 6000 directional and instructional signs for use campus-wide
Custom COVID screening app and 22 campus check-in kiosks
Cleaning and sanitation stations and protocols
Zoom expansion and technical support
HVAC modifications, and more
Your generosity and the campus community’s efforts led to the College earning national recognition from Great Value Colleges for excellence in responding to major societal crises of 2020 — the COVID-19 pandemic and racial injustice — and for strong strategic planning.
