Teaching and Research Interests: Science education, general chemistry, nanoscience. In my courses, students are engaged in the classroom through discussions and working problems collaboratively in both large and small groups, as I believe that knowledge construction and skill development occur when you create the knowledge yourself as an active, rather than passive learner. My courses incorporate real-life examples and previous experiences, encourage discovery, and provide variety for diverse learners.
