Emily Tyo poses in School of Business and Leadership, Nazareth University

      Why Nazareth?

“Making connections is important for young professionals — and anyone interested in getting into HR,” says Emily Tyo, a grad student and human resources systems administrator for Baldwin Richardson Foods Co., a custom ingredients manufacturer.

She was hired there — through a full application and interview process — shortly after networking with human resource executives from that company and others who serve as advisors for Nazareth University’s master’s program in human resource leadership.

Full-time work and two classes each semester — held nights/weekends or asynchronously online — leave little free time, but there’s a synergy, she says. “I’m able to apply what I’m doing in class at work,” Tyo says.
