Support and services

  • Military-affiliated students have access to the Military & Veteran Suite (Smyth Hall, Room 20) on campus — to socialize with peers, collaborate on group projects, or simply spend time studying in a quiet space.
  • The coordinator of veteran services and support team are dedicated to assisting in your transition to Naz — from health and wellness to academic services to assisting you with your VA education benefits
  • Vet support services within seven miles of campus include the Veterans Outreach Center, Veterans Service Agency, and Rochester VA Outpatient Clinic.
  • Career coachesinternship liaisons, and Career Services staff help you translate military service into a resume for civilian jobs, can connect you to more than 40 job recruiters who give preference to hiring veterans, and alert you to opportunities such as the veterans' preference for federal government jobs.
  • Clinics on campus provide physical and occupational therapy, art and music therapy, and other physical and therapeutic services.


  • Student veterans get priority registration for classes regardless of class year
  • As a student veteran, you may receive college credit for prior military experience and trainings. Selective CLEP exams and DSST exams accepted on a case-by-case basis
  • Free tutoring, learning support, and academic success coaching is available on campus.

Members of the Nazareth Community may join the SVA as active or associated members in order to foster a campus environment respectful and helpful to our students who have served or are serving in the United States Armed Forces and their dependents. Come out and participate in the monthly meetings and activities sponsored by the association.

Mission Statement:

The SVA at Nazareth University's mission is to encourage and support all military-affiliated students at Nazareth University, both on campus and within the community. SVA at Nazareth is committed to inclusivity and assisting military-affiliated students in broadening their self-image while helping them adapt to life in the military or as a college student. More importantly, empowering all in their pursuit of educational, professional, and vocational goals through services that will enhance student skills as they transition to civilian life.
