Sophia Caruana

Over the summer, Sophia was an NSF REU scholar for the "Computational Methods for Understanding Music, Media, and Minds." The project she worked on was called "Continual Learning in Deep Neural Networks of Audio-Visual Data," at the University of Rochester, under the mentorship of Dr. Christopher Kanan. Interdisciplinary required courses and electives such as Practical AI and Machine Learning, Philosophy of the Mind, and Linear Algebra helped assist her research in brain-inspired machine learning.
