The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to improve the health of people worldwide through leadership and scholarship in practice, education and research.
Nazareth's Pi Psi Chapter — founded in 2000 — has many active members. The group hosts multiple annual activities, including an induction ceremony of new members, educational programs with continuing education credits, a formal spring banquet, and numerous community service focused events and social gatherings for members. Annual scholarships and other monetary gifts are awarded to Nazareth nursing students currently in the program.
Membership
Membership is by invitation to baccalaureate nursing students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, and to nursing professionals who exhibit exceptional achievements in their nursing careers. Pi Psi's annual induction ceremony occurs each fall, honoring a distinguished group of nursing students and professionals who have met or exceeded the rigorous standards set by the National Honor Society of Nursing.
