Admissions Standards

Test Scores Update

Test scores for students entering in Fall 2021:: SAT or ACT scores are not required. Due to COVID-19, Nazareth College is putting the usual requirement on a one-year hold.

Test scores for students entering in Fall 2022: Although Nazareth College is a standardized-test-optional college for most programs, an SAT or ACT score is required for the nursing major. Preferred minimum scores:

  • SAT: 1150 (critical reading + math)
  • ACT: 24 ACT (composite score)

The nursing program is open to incoming freshmen and to transfer students.

For First Year Students

Direct entry: Nazareth College accepts applicants directly into the program as freshmen, meaning you don't have to apply for the nursing program later. Complete the application steps and meet the deadlines outlined on the first-time students Admissions webpage.

Standards: Prospective students must show evidence of strong academic preparation throughout high school. A high school average of 85% or higher or a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 is required. Also, successful completion and demonstrated ability in the following high school courses are required:

  • 4 years English
  • 4 years history
  • 3 years math
  • 3 years lab science
  • 3 years foreign language

Competitive applicants to the nursing program will have completed 4 years of math, lab science, and foreign language.
