Nazareth University’s Physician Assistant program is based in New York State, and the majority of clinical rotation sites are located within the state. Currently, 94% of our secured Supervised Clinical Practice Experience (SCPE) sites are in New York, with over half located within 50 miles of campus.
While we welcome applicants from across the country, clinical rotation assignments are determined by the program, and there is no guarantee that students will be placed in their specific geographic area of preference. Students should be prepared to travel for rotations and may be required to temporarily relocate.
Additional costs may be incurred related to travel, housing, and other living expenses during the clinical year. We encourage prospective students to consider these potential expenses as they plan for their education.

Due to regulations related to state licensure laws, Nazareth University Health and Counseling Services is unable to provide direct healthcare or counseling services to students who are physically located outside of New York State.
However, Nazareth is committed to supporting the well-being of all students, regardless of location. Our Health and Counseling Services team will assist out-of-state students in identifying and connecting with appropriate healthcare and mental health providers in their current state of residence.
If you are an out-of-state student seeking support, please contact Health and Counseling Services for assistance in navigating local resources.
Nazareth University has applied for Accreditation - Provisional from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). Nazareth University anticipates matriculating its first class in January 2026, pending achieving Accreditation - Provisional status at the September 2025 ARC-PA meeting. Accreditation - Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding accreditation-provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students.
The M.S. in Physician Assistant program is currently pending approval of the New York State Education Department.
