Cemre (pronounced "gem-ray") Korman, LCSW-R is an assistant clinical professor and the director of BSW field education. A proud Nazareth alum, she earned her MSW through the former Greater Rochester Collaborative (Nazareth College/SUNY Brockport) Program.
Cemre started as a part-time instructor at Nazareth in 2023 and served as a field supervisor for four years, mentoring MSW students in their practicum experiences.
With more than a decade of experience providing trauma-informed, strength-based care, Cemre works with adolescents and adults, specializing in gender-affirming care and support for transgender and non-binary individuals. She has practiced in diverse settings, including as a medical social worker, a primary therapist in outpatient mental health clinics, and a pregnancy educator. Her integrative clinical approach draws from mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy.
As the owner of a private practice, Cemre facilitates a teen DBT group and a parent support group for parents of LGBTQ+ teens and young adults. She also delivers clinical and non-clinical trainings in the community to promote inclusive, affirming, and culturally responsive care.
Course Description:
Affirming supervision serves two essential purposes: it creates a learning environment where LGBTQIA+ supervisees and staff feel respected, supported, and able to thrive, while also facilitating affirming, ethical, and culturally responsive care for LGBTQIA+ clients and communities.
- Supporting Supervisees.

- Improving Client Care.
This workshop is designed for current practitioners and supervisors.
