HEOP at Nazareth College began in 1970, after the New York State Governor and Legislature approved a law to provide equal access to higher education for "educationally and economically disadvantaged" students in the state.
Our mission is to proactively identify, recruit, enroll, retain and graduate qualified New York State students. By implementing high-impact support services including a six-week residential summer program, individual and group tutoring, workshops/seminars, and inclusive counseling, we pride ourselves on developing our students into conscious, critical thinkers prepared for post-graduate and career opportunities.
