New Undergraduate Major Introduced at Nazareth College

Published March 02, 2016

The History & Political Science Department at Nazareth College is offering a new, unique undergraduate major for young professionals interested in historical study, humanities, and social sciences. Museums, Archives, and Public History, the newest major at Nazareth College, is one of the few fields of study in the country that focuses on pursuing advanced degrees in public history and experiential learning components.

This brand new undergraduate program pairs well with other majors, such as: anthropology, art history, communications and media, history, marketing, public health, and more. Students will have the opportunity to pursue careers in the fields of digital humanities, government service, library science, national park service and preservation, to name a few. In addition, students pursuing this major can intern at: The George Eastman Museum, The Strong National Museum of Play, Smithsonian Institution, Memorial Art Gallery, and other renowned organizations.

Introducing Museums, Archives, and Public History to the College’s expansive liberal arts curriculum allows prospective students to develop skills in digital humanities, as well as benefit from rich historical study with experts from various time periods and eras.
