This national conference brought together more than 10,000 physical therapy professionals from around the nation for a week of exceptional programming and networking opportunities.

“Life-long learning is a hallmark of the engaged professional,” said Nazareth College Department of Physical Therapy Chair Jennifer Collins, PT, MPA, EdD. “A wide array of scholarly products were shared, including five that featured the on-campus clinics and wellness programs at Nazareth. It is exciting and rewarding to have half of our faculty and more than a third of our most recent graduating class together at APTA CSM.”

Some of the faculty-student research presentations included Yoga-Based Approaches on Young Adults with Developmental Disabilities, An Internet-Based Diabetes Self-Management Program and Exercise for Individuals with Type 2 Diabetes, and a presentation on the hands-on experience and interdisciplinary work that takes place in Nazareth College’s on-campus physical therapy clinics.

The physical therapy alumni presenters and attendees were: Brandon Sheehan, Lattimore PT in Avon, N.Y.; Mike Seils, Phoenixville Hospital in Phoenixville, Pa., Dan Feuerstein, Clifton Springs Hospital and Clinic in Clifton Springs, N.Y.; Rachel Waugh, Rehab Resources in Oswego, N.Y.; Leslie Gale, St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y.; Julie Davis, UHS Therapies in Norwich, N.Y.; Kara Naylor, HCR ManorCare in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; Tony Nguyen, Palm Beach PACE at Morselife in West Palm Beach, Fla.; Nick Dobson, Matrix in Dallas, TX; Kathleen Hall, SportsPlus in Orangeburg, S.C.; Chris Streeter, Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y.; Kara Ward, MedTravelers, Alexandria, Va.; Greg Blanchard, MedTravelers, Pa.; Heather Hamilton, MedTravelers, Pa.; Lauren Mock, Clinical Associates of the Finger Lakes in Rochester, N.Y.; Alison Aufiero, ProHealth PT in Levittown, N.Y.; and Kelsey Evans, Maryland SportsCare & Rehab, Owings Mills, Md.
