Nazareth College is hosting the highly anticipated, Ninth Annual Greater Rochester Teen Book Festival (TBF). The event brings thousands of teens with all kinds of literary tastes together to meet their favorite authors. TBF is Saturday, May 17, from 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Nazareth College, located at 4245 East Avenue, Rochester, N.Y. 14618. This event is free and open to the public and kicks off with an author parade led by the Eastridge High School Lancers Drum-Line. TBF will bring teens face-to-face with thirty-one award-winning authors from across the nation. Attendees will be able to meet and ask questions of their favorite authors as well as introduce themselves to new ones. The festival opens with a panel with all authors together and then continues with special breakout sessions designed to promote interaction with readers and writers. Teens will also have the chance to attend an autographing session.
Featured authors include Laurie Halse Anderson, Jay Asher, Charles Benoit, Ann Brashares, Ellen Hopkins, E. Lockhart, Alex London, Lauren Myracle, G. Neri, Neal Shusterman, and Terry Trueman. Books for all of the Festival authors are available at local public or school libraries and for purchase at local Barnes and Noble stores. In addition to the opportunity to meet authors, teens will also enjoy teen films selected from the Rochester Teen Film Festival, meet teen editors of Writers & Books new teen literary journal, Canvas, talk with a panel of teen authors, and more! Special Festival T-Shirts and other merchandise will be available for purchase during the event and Barnes and Noble will handle book sales. Lunch, snacks, and beverages will also be available for purchase. The day will conclude with a special autographing session with the authors.
