The Nazareth College Center for Spirituality is sponsoring two programs this holiday season to help provide a Thanksgiving meal to families facing food insecurity.
The Center is partnering once again with Dimitri House in the City of Rochester to provide Thanksgiving baskets for families in the community. The baskets will include all the trimmings for a complete meal. Dimitri House of Rochester is committed to serving people in need and providing services for them.
Additionally, the Center for Spirituality is partnering with the Nazareth Campus Safety Department to sponsor a program called Food for Fines. Students or faculty with parking tickets can donate cans of food in place of paying a ticket. Four cans of food equals one parking ticket payment, and students can use this program for up to two tickets.
The completed baskets will be presented to families on November 17. For information on how to get involved contact the Nazareth Center for Spirituality by emailing Jamie Fazio at jfazio1@naz.edu.
