Nazareth College Names New Assistant Director of HEOP, Excel, & Young Scholars Program

Nazareth College has officially named Tonya Guzman the Assistant Director of the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP), as well as the Excel and Young Scholars Programs. The HEOP works to enhance students’ college experience through academic enrichment initiatives, social and cultural events, and individualized academic planning.  The Excel Program was started in 1996 and functions as a student support program for underrepresented students.  The Young Scholars program is an educational experience for high-achieving students that promotes traits of academic excellence, collaboration, and leadership.

Guzman spent the last six years working as the assistant director of Graduate Admissions at Nazareth College.  Previously, Guzman earned a bachelor’s degree from D’Youville College in Communications, before going on to earn her J.D. from the University of Buffalo.
