Nazareth Trains Urban Educators With New Grant That Pays Up to Half Their College Tuition

Funding from New York state and Nazareth College will support urban education by paying up to half the tuition cost for 20 education students per year at Nazareth for the next five years.

Nazareth College received $650,000 in state Teacher Opportunity Corps (TOC) II grant funding for students who live in New York and are from racial/ethnic populations historically underrepresented in the teaching field. Nazareth has administered TOC grants for the state Education Department since 1989, most recently a three-year TOC I grant for $240,000 that ends in June.  

Eligible students must be committed to teaching in high-need urban schools and enroll full-time in one of these Nazareth degree programs:
