New Director of Diversity and Inclusive Excellence Olajiwon McCadney

Olajiwon K. McCadney is Nazareth College’s new director for Diversity and Inclusive Excellence. He will work with Vice President of the Division for Diversity and Inclusion, that includes the Center for Spirituality and Student Access and Achievement Programs, to coordinate, enhance, and supervise the formal diversity effort to create and sustain an environment that is inclusive and responsive to all. McCadney began in August 2018.

McCadney comes to Nazareth from Lebanon Valley College, Annville Pa., where he was the assistant director of Intercultural Affairs and Inclusive Programming and coordinator for Women's  Services & Gender Resource Center.

He has extensive programming, training, and educational preparation on issues of unconscious bias, safe and brave zone training, as well as leading intergroup dialogue modeled after the nationally recognized Intergroup Dialogue Institute at the University of Michigan. He has also presented and lead workshops focused on intersections of  black and queer identities and served as an institutional Title IX Advocate for faculty, staff and students.

McCadney earned his bachelor’s in psychology from SUNY Brockport, his master’s in organizational leadership and technology from SUNY Potsdam, and is earning his doctor of education in leadership, equity, and globalization from Northeastern University.
