Nazareth College welcomes Kim Harvey as its new assistant vice president of student engagement. Harvey has 16 years experience in higher education in the areas of student success, enrollment management, and residential life, and her work with bystander intervention programs and transfer student initiatives has been recognized at both the regional and national level. She begins her role at Nazareth on December 2, 2019.
Harvey's new role at Nazareth will work directly with and have oversight of the following areas: residence life and conduct, student activities and leadership, and veteran affairs. She is also an adjunct faculty member in the Psychology Department at Nazareth, specifically teaching in the higher education student affairs administration (HESAA) program.
She comes from many years at SUNY Geneseo where she most recently served as interim vice president for enrollment management, and before that, director of admissions.
"I am thrilled to be joining the Nazareth College community and to work with colleagues across campus who are focused on and passionate about the student experience," said Harvey. "I really found Nazareth to be a place that values innovation, cares about students and their overall experience, and a community that emphasizes service and meaningful connections in the community—locally and globally—which is what drew me to the College."
She began her career at Canisius College, and then moved onto roles in orientation and student experience at SUNY College at Buffalo, also spending time in the student success arena at Gannon University.
Harvey earned her bachelor's degree in mathematics (minor in educational studies) at SUNY Fredonia, her master's degree in student personnel administration at Canisius College, and her doctor of education (Ed.D.) focused in educational leadership and administration from the University of Rochester.
