Nazareth College President Beth Paul has named Yousuf George, Ph.D., to his new role as associate to the president for strategy and momentum. In his new role, George will be responsible for facilitating and overseeing an array of strategic initiatives, projects, and partnerships to support the mission and vision of the president's office and support momentum for the overall success of the College.

George has been part of the Nazareth community for over 12 years. He joined the College in 2008 as a faculty member in the Mathematics Department. "From the moment I set foot on campus, it was clear to me that Naz is a very special place. There is a unique commitment to kindness, compassion, and generosity that permeates our entire campus community. The time I have spent here has deepened my commitment to the College, and I see both our strengths and the vast potential in who we can become," said George. "We are at an inflection point at Naz that reflects the moral awakening of our country. As a result, we now have a unique opportunity to be the model of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community that centers rich academic, experiential, and social justice traditions. I look forward to working alongside President Paul, students, staff, faculty, alumni, trustees, and community partners to advance the mission and vision of our College."

Born and raised in Toronto, George earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics from the University of Toronto, and completed his doctorate in mathematics at Penn State University. He lives in the city of Rochester with his wife and two daughters.
