Nazareth named to The Princeton Review's Best 387 Colleges-2022 Edition

Published August 31, 2021

The Princeton Review released the 30th edition of one of its most popular publications: The Best 387 Colleges and Nazareth is proud to be on the list as one of the country's best institutions for undergraduate education. The education services company features Nazareth in the new 2022 edition of its annual college guide. (Penguin Random House, 2022 Edition, August 31, 2021, $24.99).

Only about 14% of America’s 2,700 four-year colleges are profiled in the book. The company chooses the colleges for the book based on data it annually collects from administrators at hundreds of colleges about their institutions’ academic offerings. The Princeton Review also considers data it gathers from its surveys of college students who rate and report on various aspects of their campus and community experiences for this project.

The College earns high marks across the spectrum that The Princeton Review uses to evaluate colleges. On a scale of 100, the quality of life rating is at 92, fire safety rating at 93, and green rating at 74. Nazareth’s overall academics rate 85, with a 90 rating for interesting professors. The survey says that Nazareth students are happy, internships are widely available, students get along with the local community, students love Rochester, N.Y.,  it’s easy to get around campus, and that theater is popular.

The Princeton Review does not rank the colleges in the book from 1 to 387. For this, the 30th anniversary edition of the book, the company curated “Great Lists” of colleges in 26 categories. The lists name the colleges that have had a distinctive history of appearances on the ranking lists in past editions of the book over the years.

Nazareth College is on the following “Great Lists” in The Best 387 Colleges: Great Town-Gown Relations.

In its profile on Nazareth College, Princeton Review quotes extensively from Nazareth students surveyed for the book. Among their candid comments on the College: “Nazareth College is the epitome of a great liberal arts school, from the extremely welcoming and genuine community to the beautiful campus and outstanding facilities, it’s easy to understand why someone would want to attend.”

The faculty and administration at Nazareth place a premium on support and open communication. As one student highlights, “Most of the staff members want to help you regardless of your major or your GPA, they want you to be successful and they provide the tools to get there.”

Students speak glowingly of classmates and stress that “everyone is very friendly." One undergrad student says, “The students at Nazareth are some of the nicest people [I’ve] ever met. There is a lot of positivity on campus and everyone is working to help you.” Another concludes, “Nazareth has the best community...I feel like I belong here no matter who I’m around.”
