Nazareth College released plans to expand Millie's Cafe in the Lorette Wilmot Library to give this heart of campus more seating and expand menu offerings. The Nazareth board of trustees approved the use of funds for the project that will include different table and seating options for 100 people, new menu additions from Naz Dining, and eclectic furniture stylings to fit the campus environment.
"As a student-centered institution we are focused on enhancing the student experience and look forward to co-creating this space with our community from menu design to furniture selection over the next several months. It will be a great gathering place for everyone," said Kim Harvey, associate vice president for student and campus life and dean of students. The project will maintain the integrity and original history of the building by working in the current footprint and relocating the service desk to create one central point of circulation for the library. Student input will be prioritized as this living and learning community space is renovated with attention to detail. Contact Kim Harvey, kharvey8@naz.edu, or Brian McGahan, bmcgaha1@naz.edu, with any questions.
Construction for the Millie's renovation is set to begin in summer 2023.
Other future campus updates
Harvey says this is just the start of Nazareth's plans for more updates to living and learning spaces across campus. There are future renovations in the works for Lourdes and Kearney Halls.
