Chemistry professor William Lammela teaching in Ireland as a Fulbright scholar

Published September 26, 2022

William Lammela, Ph.D., professor of analytical chemistry, is bringing active learning and an environmental focus to teaching this semester in Dublin, Ireland, as a 2022-2023 Fulbright U.S. Scholar. He is teaching in the green chemistry track at the University College in Dublin’s School of Chemistry, developing new curricula, and networking with their new sustainability program.

“My goal is to inject an active learning approach to traditional lecture courses (at the University College in Dublin),” said Lammela. “I will also be teaching a master class in international water pollution issues.”

Lammela hopes to develop a continuing relationship between Nazareth and University College in Dublin to allow for students and faculty to exchange between the two schools.
