Education expert Natalie Wexler, author of The Knowledge Gap and co-author of The Writing Revolution, says the answer is to focus on more than teaching comprehension skills by adding content-rich subjects like social studies and science to build students’ knowledge beginning in kindergarten. Wexler brings her keynote address, The Knowledge Gap: What it is and How to Narrow it, to Nazareth College on October 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Shults Center Forum.

Pioneering Journalist Jane Pauley is the headliner at Naz Weekend, October 21-23

One of broadcasting’s most respected journalists and host of CBS Sunday Morning, Jane Pauley is headlining Nazareth College’s first-ever Naz Weekend in October. Pauley will be the keynote speaker as Nazareth welcomes alumni, students, families, faculty, staff, donors, and the Rochester community for its biggest and brightest celebration — combining homecoming, reunion, and family weekend into one. Naz Weekend takes place October 21-23, 2022, with Pauley speaking on Saturday, October 22, at 10 a.m., in the Nazareth College Glazer Music Performance Center.

For the first time in its history, students will be living at St. John's Meadows in Brighton as part of the university's Gerontology program. The newly launched independent study project, called "Student in Residence," will offer eligible students each semester the opportunity to live at the independent senior living community.
