Nazareth University more than doubles its Centennial goal by raising $24 million

Published July 29, 2025

Nazareth University is celebrating both its donors and its economic strength as the University’s Institutional Advancement team more than doubled its Centennial fundraising goal by raising $23.8 million in immediate support and pledges of new support, far surpassing the original $10 million goal. The Advancement team’s robust fundraising efforts helped the University reach another record by receiving more than $8.74 million in cash contributions in a single year. The previous record was $7.67 million in 2019, during the last giving campaign.

“Our Centennial may be over, but it keeps giving us reasons to celebrate! First, it was our endowment reaching $100 million for the first time, and now we’ve more than doubled our Centennial fundraising goal, which led to a one-year fundraising record,” said Nazareth University President Beth Paul. “Nazareth’s Institutional Advancement team, led by Vice President Darrell Bell, has worked hard to incorporate a comprehensive advancement model, and it is truly paying big dividends to support students’ learning through action.”

During the centennial, Nazareth unveiled its 100 for 100 initiative to ensure long-term financial stability and to fund work that supports the university’s mission.

Among Nazareth's 100 for 100 goals achieved:

  • Welcoming 100 new Nazareth Leadership Society members: annual donors of more than $1,000
  • Gaining 100 new 1924 Loyalty Society members: donors who give three years or more consecutively

The University is halfway to completing its only remaining goal: to gain 100 new Founders Legacy Society members, Nazareth’s society for planned giving.

“When we unveiled our 100 for 100 initiative at the start of the Centennial, we had some lofty goals, but we were confident that we could achieve them. We are thrilled that everyone shared our vision of what Nazareth is today, and what it can be in its next century,” said Darrell Bell, vice president for Institutional Advancement. “Our donors are clearly inspired by Nazareth’s mission of education through action, and we look forward to using these record-breaking donations to support future changemakers."
