Nazareth University will be in the college admissions spotlight as host of the 2026 New York State Association for College Admissions Counseling (NYSACAC) annual conference next June. The announcement was made at the closing event of this year’s conference at Hartwick College. The three-day NYSACAC conference, along with a one-day pre-conference “Coming Together,” welcomes hundreds of secondary school counselors, college admissions professionals, and community-based organizations.
Themed “Uniting Education and Action,” it also celebrates 20 years since Nazareth last hosted NYSACAC in 2006.
“Hosting the NYSACAC annual conference at Nazareth is an incredible opportunity to showcase our admissions team, which is consistently ahead of the curve in implementing innovative admissions strategies to engage high school students,” said Danielle Bucci, Nazareth vice president for strategic enrollment, marketing, and communications.
In addition to showcasing Nazareth’s campus and programs, the conference is a key opportunity for colleges and universities across the state to strengthen relationships with counselors working with high school students — a critical audience in the college decision-making process.
“High school counselors play a vital role in guiding students to find the right college fit,” said Bucci. “Their perspectives carry a lot of weight with families. This conference gives universities the chance to share our stories in a way that builds lasting connections and inspires future recommendations.”
The New York State Association for College Admission Counseling is one of the largest ACAC events in the country, consistently drawing more than 500 participants. It is the highlight of NYSACAC’s professional development programming every year.
NYSACAC is the state affiliate of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC), the only professional association composed of members from secondary schools, community-based organizations, colleges, and universities. The state association supports members dedicated to helping students transition to post-secondary education.
