School of Music presents Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel

Nazareth’s School of Music brings magic to the stage on Friday, April 3, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 4, at 1:30 p.m. with Engelbert Humperdinck’s beloved fairy-tale opera, Hansel and Gretel, in Beston Hall at the Glazer Music Performance Center. Tickets can be purchased online at boxoffice.naz.edu or by calling/visiting the Nazareth Arts Center box office on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday from 2-5 p.m. 

Presented with the Nazareth Orchestra, this enchanting production follows the classic story of two adventurous siblings who venture into the woods in search of strawberries, only to lose their way and encounter magical beings, including a cunning and dangerous witch. Can they outsmart her and find their way safely home?

The School of Music is partnering with Nazareth’s Oak Tree Food Pantry to collect both monetary donations and nonperishable food items at the two performances. This initiative supports members of the community facing food insecurity.

The cast is led by Erin Teasedale (Gretel), Charlie Rowe (Hansel), Katie Scheible (Witch), Henry Dean (Father), Greta Hansen-Schwoebel (Mother), Molly Connors (Sandman), and Crystalina Baumer (Dew Fairy).


The company also includes: Sarah Baker, Sadie Baimel, Emily Bernards, Grace Colangelo, Alexandria Duga, Katie Evans, Abigail Fitzgerald, Abigail Hoerbelt, Erin Hudson, Mallory Johnson, Rhylie Lynch, Kristen McGarvey, Marley Ohl, Laberta Pompeo, Maeve Rosati, and Galen Straney.
The Nazareth Student Production Team Members include: Emily Bernards (dance captain), Izze Natoli (stage manager), Hannah Yaravitz (wardrobe/run crew), Nathan DeJoy (light board operator), Grace Colangelo (supertitle author), and Elizabeth Ogonowski (supertitle operator), as well as an Orchestra comprised mostly of student musicians.

All under the direction of Nazareth Faculty: Kasi L. Krenzer Marshall (artistic director), Dr. Kevin Nitsch (music director), and Dr. Raul Munguia (conductor).
