Nazareth University has earned a trio of awards in the coveted U.S. News & World Report 2027 Best Colleges rankings. Nazareth ranks No. 45 among the 2027 Regional Universities North (out of more than 150 Northeast colleges and universities ranked) — climbing five spots from last year. Nazareth is No. 30 in a new category, Top Private Schools - Regional Universities North, and is again a Best Value School among Regional Universities North, at No. 33.
“Nazareth is honored to receive these stellar rankings from the U.S. News & World Report," said Nazareth President Maureen Finney. “Recognition by a well-respected organization like U.S. News & World Report — which has a very rigorous ranking process — can act as a catalyst for further momentum as Nazareth aims to be recognized as a national institution of choice for transformative education leading to second-to-none community and career outcomes.”
The 2027 edition of the U.S. News Best Colleges rankings evaluates nearly 1,500 U.S. colleges and universities, using up to 17 factors to measure academic quality and graduate success.
For the first time, U.S. News used the 2025 update of the Carnegie Classification's institutional classifications and research designations, produced by the American Council on Education (See Nazareth’s Carnegie classification). This led to category changes for some institutions and more newly rank-eligible schools. Learn more on how the rankings are calculated.
