Hungary (Undergraduate/Graduate Adolescence Education/TESOL)

Located on Lake Balaton, one of the most scenic areas in all of Europe, this bilingual (Hungarian-English), prestigious high school is open to both graduate students and undergraduate students who are interested in teaching English, math, history, biology, or British and American culture. All teaching will be done in the English language at this school, located just 25 minutes south of Veszprém, Hungary, the City of Queens, a beautiful castle-town founded on seven hills and located an hour by train from Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Nazareth College has a longstanding relationship with the University of Pannonia in Veszprém, including a study abroad option for students in our M.A. in American Studies program. Faculty from the University of Pannonia will provide you with an orientation to the town and supervise your student teaching.

Who can apply

Undergraduate: Pre-service teachers majoring in Inclusive Childhood/Early Childhood Education, students in the Adolescence Education Program.

Graduate: Teachers and/or pre-service teachers in a GRADUATE Education Program.

Criteria

  • An over-all GPA of 3.2 or better by the beginning of their first student teaching experience.
  • A successful first student teaching placement (if applicable) - verified by their Nazareth College Student Teaching Supervisor and their cooperating teacher.
  • A positive outcome from the intercultural education experience application process:
    • Specific, thoughtful answers to the questions on the application form. 
    • THREE confidential letters of recommendation, including one from a Nazareth College instructor, and one from a classroom teacher.
    • A final interview
