Physical therapists evaluate, treat, and educate their clients to improve or restore movement and function.
The clinic serves clients of all ages with neuromuscular impairments and needs. Clinicians provide evaluation and treatment for many conditions, including stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, amputation, traumatic brain injury, and Parkinson’s disease. Interventions include individually designed programs to promote maximum function.
The clinic offers individual sessions weekly during Nazareth College's fall and spring semesters. Student clinicians also provide clients with home exercise plans to further physical improvement while not in therapy.
Therapy services are provided by students in the doctor of physical therapy professional program under the direct supervision of licensed physical therapist faculty, according to the standards of the New York State Office of the Professions.
Clients are referred to the clinic from a variety of sources, including other clinicians and clients, case managers, physicians, and social workers. Patients need a physician referral.
