Spring 2021

UPDATE:

As of Friday, April 30th 2021, We will no longer be able to honor new e-requests for the semester. You can still sign up for appointments over Zoom.

The Charles Mills Writing Center is here to help, providing feedback about writing projects to help you identify the next step in your process.

In keeping with the college-wide policy to limit in-person interactions, all services are currently provided virtually.

You can pursue tutoring support in either of two ways:

1. Sign up for a video conference tutoring appointment.

  • Sign up for an appointment with your school email account using our appointment calendar.
  • The tutor for that appointment will email you ahead of time and ask you to share any document you want to work on (either attached to the email or a shared Google doc). This can also happen at the beginning of the appointment if needed.
  • At the time of the appointment, the tutor will email the student with the appropriate Zoom invitation.
  • If there is a technical problem, the tutor will try to send another invitation twice. If for some reason this does not work, the appointment will transition to document exchange, outlined below.

2. Sign up for Document Exchange via email

Use your Naz email account for this document exchange service. (If you use a different email account, you will be asked to resubmit using your Nazareth one.)

  • Send an email request to writingcenter@naz.edu
  • For subject line, use “e-tutor request.”
  • In the body of the email, provide your:
    • First and last name
    • Course/faculty (example: ENG 101, Tolson)
    • Assignment due date
    • A description of what you would like addressed (ex. grammar, APA, etc.)
    • Attach your document in Word, or provide a link to a shared Google doc.
      • If it’s a Google doc, permission might be requested to open it, if not already granted.
      • Expect a reply in 2-3 business days. Requests are not worked on over the weekend.
      • We will not work on assignments due the day after the request is received.
      • Maximum of five pages per appointment.
      • We work in order of requests received, and therefore do not guarantee a response on student timetables. You are encouraged to work ahead of due dates and to sign up for a video conference appointment.
