Music History

Music history is a track option for students in Nazareth's B.A. Music program. This concentration explores the genres, historical themes, and influences on music, musicians, composers, and musical trends throughout the ages. Our program provides students with a foundation in history, repertoire, scholarly literature, and methodologies of Western music, as well as an introduction to non-Western musical traditions. The curriculum is designed to develop an ability to think critically, reason clearly, and to write about music within the context of the liberal arts tradition.
