Kick-start a dynamic and exciting career

Channel your love for sports, entertainment, and/or the arts with business knowledge and leadership skills to build a career in the creative and dynamic environment of sports, entertainment, and arts management. You’ll develop a strong foundation in management and leadership, build your ability to identify and understand the latest trends and the local, regional, and global influences on the sports and entertainment fields, and take advantage of Nazareth University's intensive internship program to apply your passion and skills in various organizational contexts.

Nazareth is a great place to begin your journey in the sports, entertainment, and arts management field. The University has an outstanding reputation in visual and performing arts and athletics, with top-notch campus facilities such as Glazer Music Performance Center’s Beston Hall, the Arts Center’s Callahan Theater, and Golisano Training Center. Rochester and the Upstate New York region have a wide variety of athletic, arts, and entertainment organizations and venues that provide multiple internship options tailored to your specific interests.

Benefit from close mentoring by faculty and guidance from your personal career coach.

Highlights

  • Courses in management, finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, data analysis, economics, and law prepare you to understand and manage the business side of sports and entertainment organizations.
  • You can customize your electives to strengthen your expertise in your areas of interest — such as studio courses in art, dance, theatre, or music; or communication, psychology, or sociology; or additional internship experiences.
  • You have the flexibility to add a minor in almost any area of interest, or to study abroad and complete an internship abroad. You may be able to add a double major in an area of interest, such as dance; theatre arts; or museums, archives, and public history.
  • Develop your personal and collaborative skills to excel as a team member, manager, and leader in sports and entertainment organizations.
  • You don’t have to be an artist, entertainer/performer, or athlete to thrive in this major; but if you are, this program accommodates those interests and expands your expertise in the areas that you have a passion for while enhancing your job prospects.

Alumni Spotlight

Kelsey Sweet ‘15

“Nazareth does an amazing job at preparing students for their life’s work! Not only did I learn valuable skills through my courses, but I also gained a lot of great experience through my internships, campus activities, and leadership roles. I’m excited to see that the new sports and entertainment major allows for customization of electives based on your interests. I loved taking art history, photography, and political science courses.”

Kelsey went on to work for multiple teams and sports organizations, including Pegula Sports and Entertainment (NFL's Buffalo Bills and NHL's Buffalo Sabres), where she is social media strategist and loves that “every day is different” and she has great opportunities for travel and new experiences.
