Inclusive Childhood Clinical Residencies

Graduate students: Up to nine full-time students in the graduate inclusive childhood education professional program will be selected for clinical residencies this year, through a highly competitive process.

Benefit: Receive a six-credit graduate assistantship during the fall and the spring semesters — saving a third of the total tuition cost.

What to expect

What you'll do: Spend about two days a week working in a public school in Rochester, Penfield, Rush-Henrietta, or Canandaigua beginning in the summer. There, you’ll support school-based initiatives, children, and their learning. You can integrate your own inquiry interests.

Commitment: Begins summer session I and continues through the following year's summer session II. (Discontinuing the clinical residency may result in owing a refund for your graduate assistantship).

Courses: You'll take two graduate program courses during Summer A and attend clinical residency orientation sessions (including instruction on the technology for hybrid learning at Nazareth). You'll take some coursework in a hybrid format (partially online) to allow maximum time in the schools.
