Course Description:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy approach that has gained significant recognition for its effectiveness in treating various mental health conditions, particularly trauma-related disorders. This continuing education unit provides an introduction to EMDR, covering its theoretical foundations, therapeutic techniques, and clinical applications. Participants will gain an understanding of the underlying principles of EMDR, its practical skills, and resources for training and certification.
Objectives: At the end of this course, participants will be able to…
- Understand the theoretical foundations of EMDR and its effectiveness in treating trauma-related disorders.
- Identify the key therapeutic techniques utilized in EMDR therapy.
- Explore the clinical applications of EMDR across various mental health conditions.
- Gain insight into the underlying principles guiding the EMDR therapeutic process.

Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites for this course.

Programs may be canceled by the Nazareth University Social Work Department based on low attendance. Full refunds will be issued.
