Biography

Fatima joined the Nazareth University faculty full time in 2024, and has been teaching as an adjunct since 2017. Fatima enjoys teaching a variety of courses, including but not limited to Cultural Humility and Trauma courses. Fatima has worked in a variety of settings which includes work in maternal child health, school social work, and working with veterans. Fatima is an EMDR trained therapist and owns a group private practice that supports the wellness of people of color serving New York and New Jersey. Womanist psychology, decolonized therapeutic interventions, and Black liberation psychology are the theoretical foundations of her work. Fatima also has a Master of Public administration in healthcare. She enjoys direct practice as a mental health practitioner as well as integrating social work and business as an entrepreneur. Fatima is a mom and wife, and deeply values family and privileging joy. In her down time you can find her reading, cooking, and going to pilates or a strength training class.
