Family Talk Series at Monroe County Correctional Facility

Professors Mark Primus and Shirley Sharp facilitate the "Family Talk Series" at the Monroe County Correctional Facility. The curriculum encourages parents to be the primary sexuality educators of the children in their lives, such as their children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Professor Sharp began facilitating the series over a decade ago and welcomed the opportunity to partner with Professor Primus due to his expertise in fathering.

The pair holds several all-male and all-female workshops annually for interested Monroe County Correctional Facility participants. Parents find these workshops especially helpful in becoming more confident and comfortable in discussing their children's developing sexuality.
