Biography

Tony joined the department in 2021 and is a passionate scholar-practitioner who divides his time between teaching, clinical practice, training, consulting, scholarly writing and research. Tony received his educational training at New Mexico State University, where he received various degrees, including Social Work, Foreign Languages and Special Education together with an Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialization.

In his clinical practice, he delivers cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based treatments to adult, children and adolescent clients with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and adjustment problems, such as anxiety, stress, depression, and relationship problems.

In his consulting work, he has provided intensive service to adults with disabilities and behavioral concerns. Tony finds it gratifying to introduce students to new concepts and has had the privilege of witnessing transformations in students.  He is eager to apply his experience and compassion with students as they begin to transform into future licensed Social Workers.
