Global Citizenship Immersion Certificate for Professionals

Building skills and knowledge of our diverse world with cultural and spiritual journeys for experiential learning

Open to: K-12 teachers, professionals, business people, religious leaders, social workers, and all those who want to understand the "other."

When: August 5 – August 9, 2019

This program is offered each summer.

Description: This one-week, non-credit certificate course will cover a variety of subjects including race, gender, and faith issues to foster better understanding and communication in daily life. We invite experts on these topics to share their wisdom with the participants.

This program will provide professionals, including K-12 teachers, with the necessary knowledge and skills for  understanding our global world.

Experiential learning includes visits to:

  • Ganondagan for Native American history
  • Rochester Museum & Science Center for African American history
  • a Jewish temple to understand the Holocaust and antisemitism
  • a mosque for understanding Islamophobia
  • a gurdwara to understand Sikhism

Where: Nazareth College, Golisano Academic Center

Registration Fee: $199, which includes light suppers and visits to cultural and spiritual sites
