This week-long, non-credit certificate course is offered each summer, designed for professionals, business people, religious leaders, social workers, and all those who are engaged in dealing with the other.
This course was previously called "train the trainers," teaching the faith and practices of a variety of world religions to foster better understanding and communication in daily life. We significantly changed the course to include topics on leadership skills, communication methods, and conflict management. Experts on these topics share their wisdom with the participants. In our world today, it is essential for a successful career to not only increase knowledge about these topics but also to know about the diversity of the faiths and cultures of people you are dealing with. This program provides professionals with the necessary tools of leadership skills, communication methods, conflict management, how to be respectful, and how to be aware of the cultural and religious needs of the other.
The course is jointly taught by professional experts as well as experts of world religions with featured activities and topical discussions including interfaith relations. This course also includes visits to religious centers of faith to understand worship and provide an opportunity to see these traditions as they are experienced by their communities.
