Sodexo awards Stop Hunger grant to Nazareth's Oak Tree Food Pantry

Published April 01, 2022

“I hope the food pantry can use the grant for students here and in the community!”- General Manager of Dining Services Maureen Wheelden

Sodexo Facilities and Dining Programs awarded the Oak Tree Food Pantry with a grant of $1,000 to continue the student-run pantry’s mission — to serve as an on-campus resource for students, staff, and faculty who struggle with food insecurity. The Pantry is located on campus just off of Colie’s Cafe in the lower level of George Residence Hall. Sodexo’s initiative to “stop hunger” focuses on food insecurity on campus and in the local community. Oak Tree Food Pantry Student Director Meredith Ramin ‘22, believes that this grant will help to stock the pantry, and will help with marketing efforts to expand community involvement with the pantry. She wants all students to know that “all are welcome. This is a safe space. If you want to be involved in any way— if you want to work here, help promote it, or use our services. It’s all hands on deck and we welcome anyone who wants to be a part of this.”

Students interested in becoming involved should contact oaktree@naz.edu
