Nazareth College welcomes Eleanor Oi as the new director of student engagement and leadership. Oi’s role will be to manage all aspects of student engagement, including creating, implementing, and facilitating opportunities for co-curricular learning and student leadership development. She begins her position on September 12.
With 24 years of experience working in higher education, Oi has held positions in residential life, academic advising, and new student orientation.
Most recently, Oi served as the director of diversity programming for the Office of Equity and Inclusion at the University of Rochester. In addition, she also spends time volunteering with Foodlink, the Historic Brighton board, and serves as an elected member of the Brighton Central Schools board.
"I am so excited to join the Nazareth community,” said Oi. “Growing up in Rochester, I have known and worked with many talented Nazareth alumni, faculty, and staff members. Nazareth's goals of striving for innovation and bringing changemakers into the world is something that I wanted to be a part of. Developing engaged students and helping them become leaders in the global community is very exciting for me, and I cannot wait to get started working with this team of talented individuals."
Oi earned her bachelor’s in music from Franklin & Marshall College. She received her master’s in arts administration from Binghamton University and her master’s in business administration from the University of Rochester.
