Nazareth hires Justin Shaw as director of communications

Published February 06, 2023

Nazareth has named Justin Shaw as the new director of communications. In this role, Shaw serves as a leader on the marketing and communications team, developing and executing strategic integrated communications campaigns to further promote Nazareth’s brand to both internal and external audiences. He will coordinate closely with Nazareth’s integrated marketing and content teams – as well as Nazareth’s president’s office  – to expand local, regional, and national awareness regarding Nazareth’s ongoing commitment to changemaker education and learning through first-hand impact experiences. He started his role in mid-December 2022.

Shaw brings more than 25 years of communications and marketing expertise to the role of director of communications at Nazareth College, including experience counseling clients in a wide range of business-to-business and consumer categories at leading marketing and public relations agencies in New York City and western New York. Most recently, he served as vice president of client relations at Rochester-based Dixon Schwabl + Company, where he worked for more than 11 years. Prior to that role, Shaw was senior vice president at Publicis Consultants | PR in Manhattan. His work has spanned many sectors including agribusiness, automotive, consumer goods, finance, food/beverage, healthcare, manufacturing, tech, telecom, tourism, and higher education,  and his communications expertise ranges from internal communications to public relations, content development, social media, and digital marketing.

Shaw has served on the board of directors of United Way of Ontario County, and is a member of Leadership Buffalo's class of 2019. Shaw earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from SUNY Oswego, and his master’s degree in public relations from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
