Nazareth sees record study abroad in 2026

Published October 06, 2026

Nazareth University has sent a record number of students abroad in 2026, with 325 students studying in 19 countries across five continents — a testament to students' strong interest in getting out into the world. Naz students were immersed in Austria, Chile, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, England, Finland, France, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, and Vietnam.

Nazareth’s Center for International Education team says Nazareth students followed the national trend of choosing short-term study abroad programs over semester-long opportunities, with 283 students participating in 19 short-term programs offered in 17 countries. Full-semester programs hosted 43 Nazareth students at one of Nazareth’s partner institutions across nine countries.

More new programs are coming up. “In 2027, Nazareth is offering a rich and diverse menu of global opportunities to our students. We have many exciting new programs on deck — Bahamas, Ecuador, Nepal, Panama — and many more returning,” said Nevan Fisher, Ph.D., executive director of Nazareth’s Center for International Education. “We are more globally engaged than ever before, but it takes collective action for us to get there!”

Nazareth has 25 distinct short-term programs on deck, 15 of which are led by Nazareth faculty and staff.Semester-long study abroad opportunities exist in 15 countries, and many countries have multiple partner institutions. Nazareth’s newest partner universities are the University of Rennes, France, and the University of Exeter, England.

All current Nazareth study abroad programs are eligible for Nazareth’s SPARK Grant program, meaning qualifying first-year, sophomore, and transfer students can receive $1,500 to support study abroad. Details: SPARK Grant.
