NASPA, Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, recently awarded the Center for Spirituality’s Yoga Revolution on Campus program a 2014-2015 Excellence Award in the broad category of International, Multicultural, Cultural, LGBTQ, Spirituality, Disability, and Related. NASPA Excellence Awards recognize the outstanding contributions of institutions that are transforming higher education through exceptional programs, innovative services, and effective administration.
Nazareth’s yoga leaders were also invited to present at the national Yoga Service Conference (YSC) at Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, N.Y., last May. Scholarship awards from the YSC board members enabled additional students to attend.
“Yoga represents Nazareth’s long-standing commitment to fostering spiritual growth and development as part of a holistic education,” says Lynne Staropoli Boucher, director of the Center for Spirituality. “It reflects a contemporary approach to spirituality that includes people from diverse religious and philosophical backgrounds.”
